Draining The Swamp: What Americans Get Out Of The Deal

Draining the swamp is a promise that Donald Trump made on his presidential platform to get into the White House. The term means that Washington DC is a swamp. This happens with government corruption as well as the infringement on the Bill of Rights. There are a lot of life-long politicians that are in Washington DC that are focused on lining their own pockets as opposed to helping out the Americans as a whole.

If we drain the swamp, Americans get a better country. They get to live by the Bill of Rights as they are written. They also don’t have to worry about politicians who get out of the Senate or the House and then become lobbyists who are focused on their own, hidden agendas.

Move Departments Around

One of the ways to drain the swamp is to move some of the different departments around the country. If we were to move the Department of Agriculture out to Idaho, the Department of Education out to Michigan, and the Department of Homeland Security out to Nebraska, there are going to be a lot of things that change.

Farmers would be closer to the Department of Agriculture, obtaining the various benefits. Those who manage the department will also be able to understand the pain points of farmers. The same goes for the Department of Education, understanding the needs of students more effectively. Homeland Security would also be more centrally located, providing a higher level of security to the entire nation.

In addition to gaining a better understanding of the departments, there is also going to be a dramatic change in the cost of operations. The cost of living in Washington DC is high. This includes transportation, utilities, housing, and everything else. This means it costs more for the real estate where the departments are housed as well as everyone who works inside of the department. By moving the different departments to lower cost-of-living areas, the government can save a significant amount of money. This money can be reinvested into the departments that ultimately have a positive impact on Americans as a whole.

Reduce Government Corruption by Draining the Swamp

Government corruption seems to be at an all-time high. Trump is actively working on draining the swamp and wants to stop life-long politicians from becoming lobbyists. Additionally, the goal is to spread the word about the amount of corruption that is taking place.

Often, politicians spend tens of thousands of dollars in taxpayer money simply to have elaborate parties and meetings where there is some level of corruption taking place. Politicians will shake hands with each other, rub elbows, and make private deals about how to send certain laws through. They can also prevent laws that would help the American public go through because one person or one company would be able to make a significant amount of money if it didn’t go through. This rampant corruption is preventing Americans from getting what they deserve. All over the country, people are complaining about not having enough money in public education. There are politicians who are fighting against giving more money to public education – as well as every other major issue that Americans face.
